Jak and Daxter are the main protagonists of the Jak and Daxter series. Created by Naughty Dog, the characters have made many cameos in the Ratchet & Clank series due to the close relationship between developers Naughty Dog and Insomniac Games. Ratchet and Clank have similarly made cameos in Jak and Daxter games, and the two have appeared in many other PlayStation games alongside them, often depicted as rivals.

Cameos[]

The two make their first cameo in Going Commando. During the title screen, there is a chance that Ratchet will be seen playing The Precursor Legacy as well as Jak II. An image of both characters is featured on a screen in Clank's apartment on planet Endako, and later on planet Damosel on an Allgon City billboard, with them retaining their appearance from Jak II.

The floating screens found around Maktar Resort have a hidden image of Jak and Daxter that can only be seen by breaking them and looking at the debris. The image is hidden on the third side of the triangular prisms used to switch between the Megacorp and Thugs-4-Less logos.

Jak appears as an unlockable skin in the cooperative mode for Deadlocked. Jak features his attire from The Precursor Legacy. It can be used only by the second player. Multiplayer also features a blue and red-themed skin for both teams.

Daxter makes a cameo in the Ratchet & Clank movie, showing up as a possibility when Clank is trying to identify Ratchet's race. Daxter is one of three possibilities scanned, alongside Dan Johnson and Sly Cooper.

When using the RYNO 8 in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, there is a chance that the weapon will summon Jak and Daxter. If one listens to the lorb Archive VII: Live Commentary, Mags will describe having seen "these creatures... One was firing a gun and spinning himself around every other second while the other hung out on his shoulder doing live commentary," matching the description of the duo.

Allusions[]

Going Commando features another allusion to Jak and Daxter on planet Damosel. When obtaining a Hypnomatic part after grinding on rails, the cutscene obtaining it is similar to one of the cutscenes of obtaining a Power cell in The Precursor Legacy, with Ratchet reaching up to grab it and Clank performing one of Daxter's dances, while the same music plays. Clank will then apologize to Ratchet after the dance.

Other games[]

Jak and Daxter appear as co-main protagonists in PlayStation Move Heroes alongside Ratchet and Clank, as well as Sly Cooper and Bentley from the Sly Cooper series. Jak and Daxter also appear in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, serving as the story rivals to Ratchet and Clank during the story mode.
